Job summary

PJ Education and Immigration Services Ltd in Auckland is seeking a Senior-level Accountant / Financial Controller to lead the full finance function across multiple entities. You will set financial direction, build reporting frameworks, and partner with directors on strategy while remaining hands-on with day-to-day accounting.

This role handles multi-currency accounting, group consolidation, tax compliance, and AML/CFT obligations.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA designation with post-qualification experience.
• Proven ability to lead the finance function and perform day-to-day accounting.
• Experience in group consolidation and multi-currency reporting.
• Strong knowledge of NZ tax, GST, and financial reporting.
• Experience with Xero and Excel; AML/CFT compliance is advantageous.
• Mandarin language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the group finance function for multiple entities.
• Prepare and consolidate group financial statements and cash flow forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to directors.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
• Manage end-to-end accounting across entities (AP/AR/GL).
• Drive month-end and year-end close; manage multi-currency transactions.
