Job summary

Placements24 is working with a Queenstown area non-profit to recruit a Grant Writer and Development Assistant. You will research funding opportunities, craft compelling grant proposals, and support donor communications to help sustain and grow essential programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in English or related field, proven grant writing experience, strong writing/editing skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in grant writing and/or fundraising for non-profit organizations.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with grant research databases.

Responsibilities

  • Research potential grant funding sources from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Write, edit, and proofread high-quality grant proposals, applications, and reports.
  • Develop and maintain a grants calendar to ensure timely submission of all applications and reports.
  • Assist in managing donor communications, including thank-you letters and impact updates.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant activities, submissions, and outcomes.

About the Role

Our client, a respected non-profit organization focused on social upliftment in the Queenstown area, is looking for a skilled Grant Writer and Development Assistant . This role is essential for securing the funding necessary to sustain and expand the organization's vital programs. You will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, and assisting with various donor relations activities. This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated individual with strong writing skills and a passion for making a difference, to contribute significantly to the organization's mission and impact within the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities
