Job summary

ENGEO is seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Queenstown team. You could start this year after exams or early next year.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to a range of complex projects while working with an experienced, supportive team. As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll support project delivery and field investigations under guidance, building your technical capability and confidence through real work.

Qualifications

  • Recent or upcoming graduate in geotechnical engineering.
  • Interest in geotechnical consulting and fieldwork.
  • Willing to work in Queenstown and across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with field investigations, logging, sampling and data collection.
  • Contribute to ground and soil characterization, hazard identification and constraint assessment.
  • Support geotechnical analysis and development of practical recommendations.
  • Assist project delivery through field coordination, data management and preparation of technical outputs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and contractors.

We’re looking for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Queenstown! We're excited to bring on our next motivated and enthusiastic graduate. You could start this year after your final exams or early next year.

At ENGEO, we’re passionate about developing great engineers. You’ll gain hands on experience, practical mentorship, and exposure to a wide range of complex engineering projects while working alongside an experienced, supportive team.

As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll support a variety of projects under the guidance of experienced engineers, building your technical capability and confidence through real, hands‑on work.

Field investigations & analysis
  • Assisting with site investigations, logging, sampling, and data collection
  • Contributing to ground and soil characterisation, hazard identification, and constraint assessment
  • Supporting geotechnical analysis and the development of practical recommendations
Project delivery & collaboration
  • Supporting project delivery through field coordination, data management, and preparation of technical outputs
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and contractors
  • Learning how geotechnical advice is applied in real world consulting environments

You’ll also have opportunities to work on projects outside of Queenstown, across New Zealand – as well as in Australia & the Pacific!
