Job summary

Bathurst Resources Limited invites applications for a Graduate Engineering Geologist at Stockton Mine. This entry-level role offers exposure to diverse geological and geotechnical environments, with hands-on field work and office analysis under senior mentors.

You will engage in site investigations, geological mapping, slope inspections and data interpretation while developing technical skills to support safe, efficient mining operations in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Recently completed or near completion of a degree in Engineering Geology, Geology or Earth Sciences.
• Strong observational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in mining, earthworks and ground stability; ability to work in field and office.
• Good written and verbal communication; NZ Driver Licence or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support health, safety and environmental excellence within Bathurst's operations.
• Assist geological and geotechnical field investigations across mining and rehabilitation sites.
• Conduct geological mapping, core sample logging and site inspections.
• Collect, compile and interpret geological and geotechnical data.
• Assist with slope stability assessments and ground hazard identification.
• Support monitoring programs and interpretation of results.
• Contribute to preparation of technical reports, models and project docs.
• Contribute to mine planning, rehabilitation and resource development studies.
• Collaborate with operations, environmental and technical teams for practical geologic advice.
