Job summary

Bathurst Resources Limited in New Zealand seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to support mine slopes, highwalls, landforms and rehabilitation activities across New Zealand. You will work with operations, technical and project teams to deliver practical, safe and cost-effective geotechnical solutions.

You should hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology and have extensive experience in mining or civil infrastructure, with strong analytical,

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Geotechnical/Civil Eng or Engineering Geology.
• Significant experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in mining or large-scale earthworks.
• Experience with slope stability assessments and geotechnical risk management.
• Strong reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience with geotechnical modelling and analysis software.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Champion HSE compliance and risk management across geotechnical work.
• Provide geotechnical advice to operations and leadership teams.
• Conduct slope stability assessments and investigations.
• Develop designs, reports, TARPs and management plans.
• Monitor geotechnical data and propose mitigations.
• Support mine closure and rehabilitation activities.
• Manage external consultants and contractors.
• Mentor operational personnel and develop geotechnical capability.
