Job summary

Peterson Portable Sawmills in Rotorua is seeking a Marketing & Development Specialist to plan and deliver our marketing activity and help grow international dealer networks. You will craft campaigns, update our website, and produce content for multiple channels.

You’ll be empowered to shape brand voice, manage CRM journeys, and contribute to events while learning about sawmills and rural industry markets. A four-day week and flexible hours support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Marketing experience, training, or relevant qualifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer and audience empathy—ability to create messages that connect with real people.
• Experience with social-media marketing including Facebook, Instagram, Meta advertising, Google advertising, and YouTube.
• Experience with WordPress, SEO, Google Analytics, website content, and online customer journeys.
• Understanding of CRM systems, marketing automation, lead management, and customer communications.
• Excellent copywriting and storytelling ability.
• Graphic-design capability and good eye for layout, branding, and clear visual communication.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office, Excel, Canva, cloud-based programs, and AI tools.
• Photography skills with ability to direct people or scenes.
• Basic video filming/editing ability, with eagerness to grow.
• Good research skills and a practical “find a way” attitude.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow through.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, measure, and report on an annual marketing plan.
• Manage and improve WordPress website, SEO, online content, and user experience.
• Create and schedule digital marketing across Google, Meta, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, newsletters, and more.
• Produce strong written content including customer stories, newsletters, articles, press releases, advertising copy, and promotional material.
• Take and edit photography and video for social media, ads, customer stories, demos, and training material.
• Create branded marketing materials including brochures, banners, ads, and digital assets.
• Maintain and improve CRM, automated journeys, data, reports, and dealer access.
• Plan and promote events, international shows, dealer events, and travel itineraries.
• Research and nurture new representations worldwide with CEO assistance.
• Assist with IT, software, cloud systems, logins, backups, and liaise with providers.
• Support customers at Rotorua yard and help create excellent customer experiences.
