Job summary

Marlborough Lines in Blenheim, New Zealand, is seeking a GIS Technician to join the Alfred Street office. You will maintain GIS and asset data accuracy, support ArcGIS Online, and respond to data requests from staff and contractors.

The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a focus on geospatial data integrity and reliable network operations. The ideal candidate will hold a GIS-related degree, have 2+ years in GIS, and be willing to train in Milsoft and Hexagon EAM, ensuring robust

Qualifications

BA/BS in GIS or related field (desired)
2+ years GIS experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level
Willingness to undertake training in ArcGIS, Milsoft and Hexagon EAM
Good organisational skills with prompt, accurate task completion
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
Highly motivated and able to work unsupervised after training
Experience in a distribution lines business (preferred)

Responsibilities

Update systems with as-built data from projects, maintenance, and fault responses (GIS, Milsoft, Hexagon EAM)
Maintain complete, accurate asset records and mapping across GIS and asset management systems
Respond promptly to data and information requests from staff, contractors and stakeholders
Provide technical support for Marlborough Lines’ ArcGIS Online organisational account
Review and validate core asset data records per naming conventions and data quality standards
