Job summary

Waikato Regional Council – Hamilton, North Island is seeking a proactive Spatial Analyst to handle requests for spatial information and deliver outputs in diverse formats. You will perform dedicated spatial analysis, maintain datasets and metadata, and support team colleagues on data management tasks.

The role requires a GIS-related qualification or equivalent experience, strong ArcGIS knowledge, and excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in GIS, geography, computer science or information technology or 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of ArcGIS products and data management.

Responsibilities

• Undertake requests for spatial information and provide outputs in formats such as maps and data provisions.
• Carry out spatial analysis to meet information needs of internal and external customers.
• Maintain and create data sets and metadata to standards.
• Provide backup support for Spatial Information and Data Management Team members.
• Support corporate and regional collaboration projects requiring spatial analysis.
