Job summary

Stratford District Council is seeking a GIS Specialist to lead the management, development, and continuous improvement of spatial data, GIS products, and services. You will provide technical expertise, training, and leadership across Council as a full-time role based in Stratford.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in GIS, strong ArcGIS desktop and web skills, and experience in data integration and SQL. A commitment to Te Ao Māori values and inclusive partnerships with Mana Whenua is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3–5 years' experience in a GIS role.
• Strong ArcGIS desktop and web environments expertise.
• Experience in spatial data management and data integration.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; able to train GIS users.

• Lead the management, development, and continuous improvement of Council's spatial data and GIS products.
