Job summary

Stratford District Council is seeking a GIS Specialist to lead the management, development, and continuous improvement of spatial data, GIS products, and services. You will provide technical expertise, training, and leadership across Council as a full-time role based in Stratford.

Stratford District Council is recruiting for a GIS Specialist to join the team.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the management, development, and continuous improvement of Council's spatial data, GIS products, and services, while providing technical expertise, training, and leadership across Council.

This position is full time, working (40 hours per week), based at the Stratford District Council, Miranda Street, Stratford. The salary range for this position is $83,000 to $93,000 per annum, with the starting rate based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

About You

You will have a tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline, with at least 3 - 5 years' experience in a GIS role, ideally within a council or similar organisation

The ideal candidate will have strong GIS expertise, particularly within ArcGIS desktop and web environments, along with experience in spatial data management, data integration, and SQL. They will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and thrive in a dynamic and innovative environment. A willingness to support and train GIS users, while contributing to continuous improvement is essential.
