Job summary

Specialised Engineering Services, part of Higgins, based in Palmerston North, is seeking an experienced General or Mechanical Engineer to join our team. You’ll work on a variety of projects including sprayer and trailer maintenance and new plant machinery for bitumen transport and application.

This permanent role offers a guaranteed 40-hour week, KiwiSaver employer contributions up to 4%, and opportunities to upskill and gain further licenses within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in general or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Welding certification to AS/NZS ISO 9606.1:2017 (advantageous)
• Full, clean Class 1 NZ driver’s licence (Class 2, forklift, and DG endorsements are a plus)
• Strong commitment to health and safety

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintenance and mechanical work on Sprayers, Trailers and Bulk tank Machinery.
• Undertaking engineering works on new plant and machinery for the bitumen transportation and application industry.
