Job summary

Specialised Engineering Services in Palmerston North is seeking a skilled General or Mechanical Engineer to join the team. You’ll work on repairs and maintenance for sprayers, trailers, and bulk tank machinery, plus engineering on new plant and machinery for bitumen transport and application.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in the field, an appropriate NZ qualification, and a strong focus on health and safety. A permanent, full-time position is offered with growth opportunities and benefits.

Job description

We’re looking for a skilled General or Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Specialised Engineering Services, based in Palmerston North. If you’re passionate about engineering and enjoy working on a wide variety of projects, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

In this role, you’ll be involved in a diverse range of work including:

• Repair, Maintenance and mechanical work on Sprayers, Trailers and Bulk tank Machinery.
• Undertaking engineering works on new plant and machinery for the bitumen transportation and application industry.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in general or mechanical engineering
• National Certificate in General Engineering, Mechanical – L4
• Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Welding certification to AS/NZS ISO 9606.1:2017 (advantageous)
• Full, clean Class 1 NZ driver’s licence (Class 2, forklift, and Dangerous Goods endorsements are a plus)
• Skills in mechanical, maintenance and servicing of machinery.
• Strong commitment to health and safety – for yourself, your team, and the public
