Job summary

The Good Home Coast Papamoa is looking for a General Manager to take full ownership of the pub. You’ll report to the owners and run the venue as if it were your own, overseeing budgets, people, and operations to deliver a standout guest experience.

You will lead the front-of-house team, plan events and local promotions, ensure liquor licensing and health and safety compliance, and work closely with the kitchen to create a seamless front‑to‑back guest journey.

Qualifications

• NZ Duty Manager certificate required.
• 3+ years pub/bar mgmt experience.
• Availability for Friday and Saturday nights and weekends.
• Strong numbers sense and ability to improve them.
• People-first leadership with team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Take full P&L ownership: budgets, wage %, COGS, weekly reporting to owners.
• Lead FOH team: recruit, roster, train, set standards.

The Good Home Coast Papamoa is a local suburban pub near the beach that knows its locals by name. Our tagline is "Let the good times roll", and we mean it. We're part of a locally owned Bay of Plenty hospitality group.

The role

We're looking for a General Manager to take full ownership of the pub. You'll report to the owners, and run the venue as if it were your own.

What you'll do

• Run the full P&L: budgets, wage %, COGS and weekly reporting to the owners
• Lead the FOH team: hiring, rostering, training and setting the standard
• Plan and grow events, functions and local promotions
• Keep the venue compliant: liquor licence, host responsibility, and health and safety
• Work closely with the kitchen to deliver a great experience front to back
• Be the face of the pub. Greet and farewell every guest and go above for our locals

What you'll bring

• A current NZ Duty Manager's Certificate
• 3+ years in pub or bar management
