Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking a reliable General Labourer to join a busy Christchurch crew. This hands-on role suits someone who enjoys physical work, works well in a team, and is ready to tackle a variety of tasks on site.

Location: Christchurch. Start date: Immediate. Pay rate: $25–$26 per hour – paid weekly. PPE provided, potential for ongoing work, and a supportive Tradestaff Christchurch team.

Qualifications

• Physical fitness and ability to perform hands-on work on-site.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and punctuality.
• NZ driver's licence and own vehicle for site access.
• Willing to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Two recent working references available on request.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities for a busy crew.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures on site.
• Flexibility to assist with various tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist trades and site crews with general labouring duties.
• Move, load, and unload materials and equipment on site.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and tidy sites.
• Support with basic site prep and other hands-on tasks.
• Follow supervisor instructions and work efficiently with the team.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures throughout the day.

General Labourer

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking General Labourer to join a busy crew in Christchurch. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, works well as part of a team, and is happy to get stuck into a variety of tasks on site.

Location: Christchurch
Start date: Immediate
Pay rate: $25–$26 per hour – paid weekly

What you’ll be doing

• Assisting trades and site crews with a range of general labouring duties
• Moving, loading, and unloading materials and equipment around site
• Completing general site clean‑up and keeping work areas safe and tidy
• Helping with basic site preparation and other hands‑on tasks as required
• Following instructions from supervisors and working efficiently with the wider crew
• Following all site health and safety procedures throughout the day

To be successful

• A good level of physical fitness and confidence completing hands‑on work
• A reliable attitude and strong work ethic
• A full NZ driver’s licence and your own reliable vehicle
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test
• Two recent working references
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a positive approach to the job
• A strong awareness of workplace health and safety
• Flexibility to help with a variety of tasks as required
