Job summary

Donaldson Residential Trust in Christchurch, South Island, seeks two Community Support Persons for full-time permanent roles. You will support adults with intellectual disabilities in daily living, including personal cares, meals, household tasks, and documentation. Shifts include weekends across multiple houses; driver license is preferred.

This is a hands-on role requiring empathy, teamwork, reliability, and basic computer skills for notes. Prior community support experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to provide personal cares as part of daily living support.
• Show empathy toward people with disabilities and work in a team.
• Be flexible with shifts, including weekends.
• Basic computer skills for notes and reporting.
• CV should state if you have a full, clean NZ driver's license.
• Preference for applicants with community support work experience.

Responsibilities

• Support, educate, assist and encourage individuals with an intellectual disability.
• Meet day-to-day health needs of the people we support.
• Provide personal cares and assist with meals, cleaning and laundry.
• Maintain hygiene standards and a safe living environment.
• Plan and support goals, monitor programmes and take daily notes.
• Document medication dispensation and transport people safely when needed.
