Job summary

Reliance Recruitment Christchurch is seeking a fit, reliable Front-End Loader Operator to join a well-established chemical processing plant in Canterbury. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role where you will operate a front-end loader and perform related manual and plant-based duties.

Roster is a 7-day rotating day and night cycle, with day shift 4:00am–4:00pm and night shift 4:00am–4:00am, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Front-end loader operating experience is required.
• W Endorsement preferred.
• OSH Forklift certification is preferred or required.
• Class 2 licence is preferred.
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform heavy manual work.
• Ability to work safely in a busy industrial environment.

Job Description

We are seeking a fit, reliable and hardworking Front-End Loader Operator to join a well-established chemical processing plant.

Ideally, you will hold a W Endorsement, OSH Forklift certification, and a Class 2 licence.

However, we are also happy to consider applicants who hold OSH Forklift certification and relevant experience, with the opportunity to discuss further training and licensing.

About the Role

This is a physically demanding, hands-on position. The role involves much more than operating a front-end loader, so you will need to be comfortable getting stuck in and performing a variety of manual and plant-based duties.

• Operating a front-end loader
• Shovelling and moving materials
• Loading and unloading bulk materials
• Industrial cleaning and sweeping
• Bulk bagging
• General plant and production duties

Roster & Hours

This is a 7-day rotating day and night roster, with only two consecutive days worked at a time:

• Day shift: 4:00am – 4:00pm
• Night shift: 4:00am – 4:00am

You must be comfortable working rotating day and night shifts, including weekends and nights.

What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will have:

• Front-end loader operating experience
• W Endorsement – preferred
• OSH Forklift certification – preferred/required
• Class 2 licence – preferred
• Good physical fitness and the ability to perform heavy manual work
• The ability to work safely in a busy industrial environment
