Job summary

Hunter Campbell is partnering with a large New Zealand–based business to appoint a senior FP&A professional. You will own budgeting, forecasting, restatement processes for a core division and provide performance insights to senior finance and business leaders.

The role requires CA/CPA, proven FP&A or commercial finance experience, strong communication and PowerPoint storytelling, and comfort presenting to executives. Immediate availability for an initial 3-month contract in Auckland.

Qualifications

  • CA/CPA qualification required; non-negotiable.
  • Proven FP&A, performance management or commercial finance experience.
  • Strong communicator with ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and storytelling; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
  • Big 4 experience is advantageous but not required.
  • Experience with shared service or outsourced finance models is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, forecast and restatement processes for the division.
  • Own financial analysis, performance diagnostics and scenario modelling.
  • Deliver high-quality performance reporting and commentary.
  • Monitor performance against targets; flag risks and opportunities early.
  • Maintain strong controls, governance and data integrity across FP&A.
  • Partner with embedded finance and shared service teams to lift reporting quality.

Key Skills & Experience Required
  • CA/CPA qualified (non-negotiable)

  • Strong communicator, confident building relationships across finance and the business
  • Strong PowerPoint and storytelling skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership
  • Big 4 background regarded but not essential
  • Experience working with shared service or outsourced-partner finance models advantageous
