Job summary

JobSpace is seeking experienced concrete formworkers and hammer hands for Canterbury-based sites in Christchurch. The role involves on-site and factory work with constructive duties in formwork and concrete placement.

You will read plans, follow safety protocols, and work full-time with good pay. Driving licence and references are required, with Site Safe certification for some sites. PPE is provided and ongoing support is available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with concrete work in construction.
• Ability to read plans, work in various conditions, and prioritize safety.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.
• 2 work related references.
• Site Safe will be required for some sites.

Responsibilities

• Construct timber boxing and formwork for concrete placing.
• Build, erect and modify concrete formwork systems.
• Apply expertise in concrete formwork design and construction methods.
• Assist with reinforcement placement and steel tying.
• Assist with concrete pouring, spreading and finishing.
• Strip formwork safely after concrete has cured.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment on site.
• Follow safety protocols and collaborate with the team.

Experienced concrete workers required. Temp to perm opportunities. Full time ongoing work with leading Canterbury companies.

We are looking for experienced formwork carpenters and hammer hands for various clients in the Christchurch area. The jobs are a variety of commercial on site work and factory work in the Christchurch area.

Good rates of weekly pay. On-going full time work.
Hours of work will be between 07:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

What we need from you:

• Proven experience with concrete work in construction
• Ability to read plans, work in various conditions, and prioritize safety
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
• 2 work related references
• Site safe will be required for some sites

Duties will include:

• Constructing timber boxing and formwork for concrete placing
• Building, erecting and modifying concrete formwork systems
• Applying expertise in concrete formwork design and construction methods
• Complete reinforcement placement and assist with steel tying and steel bar assembly
• Assisting with concrete pouring, spreading and finishing
• Striping and removing formwork safely after concrete has cured
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings and project specifications
• Maintaining a safe and productive work environment on site
• Able to follow safety protocols and collaborate with the team effectively.
