Job summary

Rob Law Max Recruitment – Christchurch, South Island is seeking skilled carpenters to join a busy team working on residential, commercial or civil projects. You’ll contribute to quality-focused construction from start to finish and work with a professional team that takes pride in workmanship.

You’ll read plans, set up formwork and framing, and help with finishing tasks in all weather. The role offers full-time hours with potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Carpentry is a bonus but not essential.
• Be able to use and operate basic hand and power tools.
• Have reliable transport and a commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• General setting up of Formwork, reinforcing boxing and framing as well as walls.
• Shear wall construction on commercial projects.
• Ensuring a high-quality finish.
• Installation of windows, doors and interior/exterior fixtures.
• Finishing tasks including smoothing and sealing.
• Reading plans and construction drawings.

We have multiple opportunities available for skilled carpenters to join a busy and well-established team working on either residential, commercial or civil projects. offering a great opportunity to be involved in quality-focused construction from start to finish.

Youll be working alongside a professional team that takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• General setting up of Formwork, reinforcing boxing and framing as well as walls
• Shear wall construction on commercial projects
• Ensuring a high-quality finish
• Installation of windows, doors and interior/exterior fixtures
• Finishing tasks including smoothing and sealing
• Reading plans and construction drawings

Ideally you will have:

• Qualification in Carpentry is a bonus but not essential
• Be able to use and operate basic hand and power tools
• Have proven experience, experience in shear wall is greatly beneficial
• Experience working on multi unit or high end residential projects
• Experience on commerical or civil infastructure projects
• Have reliable transport
• Have a commitment to a positive health and safety. Mindset
• Be physically fit and not put off working in all types of weather
• Willing to work, be on time and work full time hours.
• Site Safe preferred (but we can also help you get that)
• Pass a drug test
• Additional tickets such as EWP, Heights, First Aid or Telehandler certification would be a great advantage (we can also help upskill in this)
• Hourly rate and weekly pay
• Full PPE provided
• Upskilling and training assistance where applicable

• Potential for Visa variation for AEWV workers depending on skills, experience and position.
