Job summary

PGF LIMITED in Hawke’s Bay, Hastings is seeking a Formwork Carpenter for a permanent role. You will work full-time (30–60 hours/week) across Monday to Sunday to build and install formwork structures on varied construction projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent qualification, with the ability to read blueprints and measure lay out materials. NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent qualifications.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
• Willingness to work varying hours including weekends.
• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans.
• Prepare project work procedure and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Plan the order and selection of timbers and other materials, and prepare layouts.
• Shape and cut materials to specified measurements using hand or power tools.
• Assemble and nail prepared parts to form framework or structures.
• Construct building frames and install cladding on the inside and outside.
• Remove and repair existing fittings, conduct renovation and maintenance for wood structures.
• Complete concrete formwork when required.
• To able to work with steel and metal materials when required.

We are looking for 1 full-time (minimum 30 hours to maximum 60 hours per week, working from Monday to Sunday) Formwork Carpenters to join our team on a Permanent basis.

You will need to have at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in the same field/industry or have a relevant level 4 or equivalent qualifications/certificates or a Bachelor degree of any major

Formwork Carpenters are required to:

• physically fit and willingness to work hard
• Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively
