Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Lead from the front. Build high-performing teams. Deliver infrastructure that makes a difference.

At Seipp Construction, we're delivering infrastructure that makes a real difference to communities across New Zealand.

As an award-winning nationwide contractor, we're known for tackling technically challenging infrastructure projects and delivering them safely, collaboratively and to an exceptionally high standard. From complex civil works and structures through to mechanical installations, water and wastewater infrastructure, pump stations and specialised industrial projects, we pride ourselves on doing the job properly and building lasting relationships with our clients.

As our presence across the lower North Island continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Foreman or Supervisor to join our Wellington team.

You may already be an experienced Supervisor, or perhaps you're a high-performing Foreman who's ready to take the next step. What matters most is your ability to lead people, plan work, drive productivity and create a positive team culture while delivering projects safely and to a high standard.

About the Role

This is much more than running a crew.

You'll lead from the front, taking responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering day-to-day site operations while ensuring your team has everything they need to succeed.

Working closely with Project Managers and Engineers, you'll help develop short-term programmes, coordinate labour, plant and materials, manage subcontractors and keep projects progressing safely, efficiently and on programme. You'll also mentor your team, coach performance and help develop the next generation of site leaders. These expectations reflect the Foreman role at Seipp, including responsibility for planning, leadership and developing people.

You'll join a growing Wellington team delivering complex infrastructure projects across the lower North Island. Current work includes Seipp's recently awarded $5.2 million Carterton District Council Headworks Upgrade at the Carterton Wastewater Treatment Plant, together with a major New Zealand Defence Force fire protection upgrade at Ohakea. The Ohakea project includes replacing the existing deluge tank and upgrading firefighting systems, fire water storage and pump infrastructure, hydrants, drainage and containment systems across multiple operational facilities. With a strong pipeline of work continuing to develop across the region, you'll play an important role in shaping Seipp's future in the lower North Island.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead crews and subcontractors to deliver work safely, efficiently and to programme
  • Develop short-term work plans and coordinate labour, plant, materials and resources
  • Lead daily pre-starts, planning meetings and toolbox talks
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to deliver programme, quality and commercial outcomes
  • Coordinate subcontractors and manage multiple work fronts
  • Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Promote a visible safety culture where planning, communication and accountability come first
  • Mentor, coach and develop team members while building a high-performing site culture
  • Build positive relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and stakeholders
What We're Looking For

We're looking for practical leaders who enjoy building great teams as much as building great projects.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Proven experience leading civil construction crews on complex infrastructure projects
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities at once
  • Experience managing subcontractors and day-to-day site operations
  • A practical understanding of construction sequencing and productivity
  • Broad experience across civil construction, with exposure to concrete structures, drainage, mechanical installations and structural works highly regarded
  • The ability to read drawings and interpret project specifications
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Confidence coaching, mentoring and developing others
  • A proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement

Experience delivering complex civil infrastructure projects is essential. Experience within water and wastewater treatment, pump stations or industrial infrastructure would be advantageous, but is not essential.

We're interested in capable site leaders from a broad range of infrastructure sectors who are looking to make an impact.

Why Join Seipp?

Seipp combines the technical capability, systems and expertise of a major contractor with the agility, flexibility and self-perform capability of a proven Tier 2 business. Our ability to self-perform much of our work gives us greater control over quality, programme and outcomes for our clients.

We're not looking for someone to simply supervise today's work. We're looking for someone who wants to help build our Wellington business, develop great people and become part of the next generation of leadership at Seipp.

We're committed to developing our people through leadership programmes, mentoring and clear career pathways because we know our future success depends on building great leaders. Our Foremen and Supervisors receive structured leadership development, technical training and opportunities to continue progressing their careers.

When you join Seipp, you'll enjoy:

  • Competitive remuneration package
  • Company vehicle
  • UniMed Health Insurance after 90 days, including cover for pre-existing conditions
  • Ongoing leadership development and technical training
  • Clear career pathways with opportunities to progress and grow your leadership career
  • A supportive team culture that values collaboration, innovation and doing things properly
  • The opportunity to play a key role in shaping Seipp's continued growth across the lower North Island
Ready to Make a Difference?

This is an opportunity to become a key leader within a growing business.

You'll help deliver meaningful infrastructure projects, build high-performing teams, develop future leaders and contribute to the continued growth of our Wellington business.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine hands-on leadership, technical expertise and team development while working on projects that make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
