Job summary

Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers (placeholder company) is seeking a Category Manager to own key FMCG categories and drive performance across a nationwide retail network. You will work with senior stakeholders, manage supplier relationships, and lead planning, pricing, and promotions initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves category planning, performance monitoring, and reporting, with strong emphasis on analytical skills and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years Category Management experience in FMCG, retail or related commercial environment.
• Experience managing categories or product portfolios with demonstrated commercial results.
• Strong analytical skills with intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities.
• Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Commercial understanding of pricing, promotions and supplier negotiations.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Commerce or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day category operations
• Lead category planning, execution and performance monitoring across our retail network
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, store teams and internal stakeholders
• Assisting in the development and execution of joint business plans with stakeholders
• Analysing and optimising pricing, promotions and ranging to drive category growth
• Contributing to stakeholder conversations and presenting category insights
• Managing multiple projects through effective prioritisation and time management
• Lead category performance reporting and analysis
