Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand in Dunedin is seeking a motivated Apprentice Flooring Installer to join a busy local team. You will work on a range of residential and commercial projects, building hands-on skills in measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing floor coverings.

Qualifications

• Relevant pre-trade qualification or solid practical/handyman experience.
• Interest in learning the flooring trade and developing your skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Reasonable physical fitness for hands-on work.
• Ability to work well with others in a busy environment.
• Basic maths skills for measuring and problem-solving.
• Strong focus on health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Measuring and preparing areas for flooring installation.
• Learning to measure, cut, fit, apply and secure floor coverings.
• Assisting with subfloor preparation for installation.
• Mixing and applying resin flooring under guidance.
• Helping repair damaged floor coverings.
• Assisting with installation and sanding of timber floors.
• Learning to safely use specialised flooring tools and equipment.
