Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking reliable, safety-minded Traffic Controllers to join our on-call team in Wellington. You’ll help manage traffic around construction sites, roadworks, or events, ensuring the safety of drivers, pedestrians and workers.

This flexible role is on-call to fit around your schedule; you’ll work outdoors in all weather, communicate clearly, and report hazards while following safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Traffic Controller or similar role.
• Current Traffic Control/Traffic Management Certification is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically fit to stand, walk, and handle equipment for long periods.
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
• Own transport is advantageous for getting to various sites.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage traffic flow at worksites or events.
• Use signs, cones, and barriers to direct vehicles safely.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, pedestrians, and team members.
• Report hazards and follow all safety regulations.
