Job summary

Access Community Health is seeking an Experienced Support Worker to join a dedicated team in East Christchurch. You will support one client with personal care, mobility, meals, and social activities, across a 24/7 roster including sleepovers.

The role emphasizes culturally safe, client-centred care within a supportive team. The ideal candidate has Level 3/4 Health and Wellbeing qualifications, experience with spinal injuries, and the ability to work safely with hoists and care plans.

Qualifications

• Must-have Health and Wellbeing qualification (Level 3/4)
• Experience supporting spinal injuries and bowel management
• Comfortable working with hoists and mobility equipment
• Ability to follow care plans and adapt to client needs
• Demonstrates culturally safe, respectful support for diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and daily routines (morning/evening)
• Support mobility transfers and safe hoist use
• Offer passive exercises and positioning for comfort
• Prepare meals and provide nutritional support
• Facilitate community outings and social connection
