Job summary

Access Community Health is hiring Support Workers to assist in-home care across the community in New Zealand. You will provide person-centered support with daily living tasks, medications, and mobility assistive needs, while respecting clients' culture and values.

The role offers flexible hours (mornings/evenings/weekends), a structured induction, ongoing training, and a defined career pathway for Kaiāwhina/Support Workers. A Spark plan and regional allowances are provided.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or equivalent.
• Spinal injury experience.
• Stoma management experience.
• Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist.
• Experience administering prescribed medication.
• Willing to learn, reflect, and adapt approach per person.
• Experience in caregiving, disability support, aged care, or community work.
• Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds.
• Own a smartphone and have the right to work in New Zealand.
• Full/restricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful, and person-centered support in clients’ homes.
• Assist with daily living tasks and care needs including complex supports.
• Support clients with medication administration and health routines.
• Respect cultural values and adapt care to individual routines and boundaries.
