Job summary

Tawa Intermediate is seeking a New Zealand certificated teacher to deliver a dynamic performing arts curriculum for Years 7-8, with a hands-on music and drama programme tailored to early adolescents. The successful candidate will cover theory, performance, appreciation and composition, and contribute to the wider school culture through bands, assembly singing and related opportunities.

The position is full-time, fixed term from 28 January 2027 to 27 January 2028 to cover flexible working

Qualifications

• NZ certificated teacher with current practising certificate.
• Experience delivering performing arts to early adolescents.
• Ability to plan and assess a hands-on music and drama programme.
• Experience supporting bands and assembly singing or equivalent extras.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess a dynamic performing arts curriculum for Years 7-8.
• Develop engaging music and drama activities focusing on theory, performance, appreciation and composition.
• Contribute to school culture through extra-curricular arts opportunities and events.
