Job summary

Whangaparaoa College invites itinerant music teachers to join our Arts Faculty for the 2027 academic year. This is a part-time fixed-term position (0.1 FTE) running from 28 January 2027 to 27 January 2028, with hours dependent on learner need.

Applicants should be highly motivated, well-organised and capable of inspiring students in their chosen instruments. The role includes supporting NCEA music assessments and developing co-curricular music groups.

Our College Arts Faculty would like to invite applications from itinerant music teachers, to offer music lessons at our college for the 2027 academic year. Applicants must be highly motivated, organised and committed, with the ability to inspire and equip our learners to succeed in their chosen instruments. The right candidates will be adaptable, reliable and committed to our school and able to support our growing music department.

The expectation would be that the successful candidates would support our NCEA music students with their performance assessments and support the growth and development of the co-curricular music groups at WhangaparÄoa College.

Hours of work will be dependent on the needs of our learners in 2027. Current itinerant music teachers are welcome to reapply for ITM positions and will be considered alongside new applicants.

These are fixed-term positions for 2027. Remuneration will depend on the experience and qualifications of the successful applicant.
