Job summary

Meadowbank School in Auckland is seeking a dynamic and dedicated music and/or performing arts teacher to join our team in 2027. The position could be 0.8 or full-time, with a fixed term from 28 January 2027 to 27 January 2028 (Curriculum Programme Review).

The successful candidate will develop engaging lessons for Years 1–8, foster a love for the arts, and organise school performances while collaborating with colleagues to integrate arts across the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering music and/or performing arts in a primary/intermediate setting.
• Ability to plan engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned to the NZ curriculum.
• Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive teaching and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lessons for primary school students.
• Foster a love for music/performing arts through interactive activities.
• Organise and lead school performances, concerts, and other events to showcase student talents.
