Job summary

Platinum Engineering is recruiting a Site Engineering Manager for the group’s 2nd biggest site in Oamaru, Otago. The role reports to the Site Manager and leads a large internal engineering team to maximise plant efficiency through asset management and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have 10+ years in maintenance engineering in manufacturing, 5+ years in a food processing site, and 3+ years in a leadership role.

Qualifications

• Min 10 yrs maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Min 5 yrs experience in food processing site.
• Min 3 years in a maintenance leadership role.
• Proficient with CMMS systems and be computer savvy.
• Proven wins in asset management, maintenance planning and reliability.
• Clear, concise communication across multiple departments.
• No-nonsense attitude to H&S for all.
• Budgetary and project management experience.
• NZ work rights: Residency, Citizen or Open Work Visa.

Site Engineering Manager for the groups' 2nd biggest site, Pukeuri in Oamaru. Permanent, role for proven engineering leader

OAMARU, OTAGO - SITE ENGINEERING MANAGER

Platinum Engineering are excited to be partnering again with this huge name in red meat processing as we search for their next Engineering Manager.

As one of the world's largest red meat processors and exporters Oamaru is their 2nd largest of all the sites.

This is pivotal role, reporting directly into the Site Manager. It is a multi-species site with a large, permanent internal engineering team. Your leadership & years of experience will ensure the plant is running to it best efficiencies.

THE ROLE:

• Provide technical leadership & development to the engineering team
• Manage maintenance budgets (R&M & capital projects)
• Be instrumental in planning, cost control & long-term forecasting
• Driving continuous improvement & asset management for plant efficiencies
• Ensure effective communication, reporting & alignment with production

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE/ BE:
