Job summary

Platinum Engineering is seeking an experienced Site Engineering Manager for our Oamaru, Otago site. You will lead a large maintenance engineering team, manage R&M and capital budgets, and drive asset management to maximise plant efficiency.

The role reports to the Site Manager and requires strong H&S leadership and cross-department collaboration. Key focus areas include planning, cost control, long-term forecasting, and continuous improvement to ensure reliable operations at a multi-species

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in maintenance engineering within manufacturing.
• At least 5 years on a food processing site.
• Minimum 3 years in a maintenance leadership role.
• Experience with CMMS and strong computer skills.
• Excellent cross-department communication and H&S focus.

Platinum Engineering are excited to be partnering again with this huge name in red meat processing as we search for their next Engineering Manager.

As one of the world's largest red meat processors and exporters Oamaru is their 2nd largest of all the sites. This is pivotal role, reporting directly into the Site Manager. It is a multi-species site with a large, permanent internal engineering team. Your leadership & years of experience will ensure the plant is running to it best efficiencies.

THE ROLE:

• Provide technical leadership & development to the engineering team
• Manage maintenance budgets (R&M & capital projects)
• Be instrumental in planning, cost control & long-term forecasting
• Driving continuous improvement & asset management for plant efficiencies
• Ensure effective communication, reporting & alignment with production

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE/ BE:

• Min. 10 yrs maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing
• Min. 5 yrs experience in food processing site
• Min. 3 years in a maintenance leadership role
• Proficient with CMMS systems & be computer savvy
• Proven wins in asset management, maintenance planning & reliability
• Clear, concise communication across multiple departments
• No-nonsense attitude to H&S for all
• Budgetary & project management experience
• Immediate NZ work Rights: Residency, Citizen or Open Work Visa
