Job summary

WSP in New Zealand is seeking a Team Lead for Fire and Life Safety to shape future projects across Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton or Wellington. You’ll lead and develop the Fire and Life Safety team, ensure technical excellence and drive thoughtful, high-quality engineering solutions.

Based in one of our main centre locations, you’ll build trusted client relationships, contribute to business growth and guide complex delivery from governance to proposals.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification and Chartered Engineer status.
• 10+ years’ experience in fire & life safety engineering.
• Proven people leadership and coaching ability.
• Strategic thinking with ability to translate business goals into practical action.
• Strong business and commercial acumen with project and financial management experience.
• Experience identifying and converting business development opportunities, and building trusted client relationships.
• Clear, engaging communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Fire and Life Safety team across projects.
• Ensure technical quality and embed regular learning across the team.
• Guide complex project delivery and manage client relationships.
• Support proposals, market development and client presentations.
• Foster sharing of expertise across the wider business.
• Connect local knowledge with national and international fire engineering capability.
