WSP in New Zealand is seeking a Manager, Fire and Life Safety Engineering to lead the Fire and Life Safety team across NZ. Based in one of our main centres (Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton or Wellington), you'll drive technical quality and people development while guiding complex projects and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification and Chartered Engineer status with 10+ years in fire & life safety engineering.
  • Established people leader who coaches and develops capability across teams.
  • Strategic thinking, sound judgement, translating goals into action.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen with project/financial management experience.
  • Experience identifying and converting BD opportunities and building client relationships.
  • Clear, engaging communication to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Fire and Life Safety team, defining direction and ensuring resourcing across projects.
  • Maintain technical quality, embed learning and share expertise across the business.
  • Guide complex project delivery, build trusted client relationships and drive business growth.
  • Contribute to proposals, market development and client presentations for strong outcomes.
  • Connect local knowledge with WSP's national/international fire engineering capability.
