Job summary

Genesis Energy NZ in Hamilton is seeking a capable Finance Administration professional to join our day-to-day finance operations, handling AP, AR and cash management in a high-volume environment.

You will ensure accuracy, work with colleagues to resolve issues, and contribute to budgeting, reporting and process improvements using Workday and other systems. This permanent, full-time, hybrid role supports our energy future.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ finance administration experience in a corporate environment.
• Experience across AP, AR or similar transactional finance administration role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high volumes and deadlines.
• Collaborative, customer-focused approach and willingness to investigate and solve issues.
• Experience with ERP systems is advantageous, particularly Workday.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, scheduled payment runs and manual payments accurately and on time.
• Manage daily cash receipting and accounts receivable invoicing.
• Maintain supplier records and resolve payment queries with suppliers.
• Provide data to support reporting, budgets, forecasts and other finance activities.
• Identify practical opportunities to improve finance processes.

Based in Hamilton, this is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working, supporting the day-to-day finance operations that keep money moving accurately and on time across Genesis.

What you’ll do:

You’ll take ownership of a broad range of hands‑on finance administration, working across accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management. With significant transaction volumes, your accuracy, judgement and ability to investigate issues will help keep our finance processes running smoothly.

• Process invoices, scheduled payment runs and manual payments accurately and on time
• Manage daily cash receipting and accounts receivable invoicing
• Maintain supplier records and resolve payment queries with suppliers
• Provide data to support reporting, budgets, forecasts and other finance activities
• Identify practical opportunities to improve finance processes

What you’ll need:

You’ll bring solid finance administration experience and be comfortable managing a high volume of detailed work without losing sight of accuracy. You’ll also be someone who asks questions when something doesn’t look right, works well with others and is open to learning new systems and processes.

• At least two years’ finance administration experience in a corporate environment
• Experience across AP, AR or a similar transactional finance administration role
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with high volumes and deadlines
• A collaborative, customer‑focused approach and willingness to investigate and solve issues
• Experience with ERP systems would bean advantage, particularly Workday.
