Job summary

Te Rūnanga o Tūranganui a Kiwa is seeking an experienced finance professional to support sound financial management and the effective delivery of services across the organisation and its entities in Gisborne. Reporting to the CFO, this role covers day-to-day accounting, month-end processes and year-end audits, with a focus on the housing portfolio.

You will work independently and with the leadership team, auditors and managers to improve financial systems and controls, ensuring accurate

Qualifications

• Experience with month-end and year-end accounting.
• Experience liaising with auditors and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Understanding of Māori organisations and iwi aspirations is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounts and payroll support for related entities.
• Prepare month-end reconciliations, journals and financial schedules.
• Coordinate year-end preparation with external auditors.
• Support housing portfolio financial performance and reporting.
• Improve financial systems and internal controls.
