Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the finance function for a Not-for-Profit organisation based in Wellington's CBD on a permanent basis, reporting to the director and delivering hands-on financial leadership.

You will manage a small team handling transactional accounts (AP/AR), payroll oversight, and be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, fixed assets, capex/opex reporting, and month-end processes with audit preparation.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification is required.
• 3–5 years of hands-on finance management experience.
• Recent people / team leadership experience.
• Solid financial controls and cashflow management.
• Budgeting, forecasting, fixed assets, capex/opex reporting, AP & AR oversight.
• Payroll function management and oversight.
• Month and year end processes with audit preparation.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to build relationships quickly.

Responsibilities

About the role
This a rare and exciting opportunity for a talented Finance Manager to join an established Not for Profit organisation based in Wellington’s vibrant CBD on a permanent basis and take ownership of their finance function!

The role reports into the director and provides hands on financial leadership to the wider business through exceptional financial and management accounting expertise.

You’ll be responsible for managing a small team of accounting professionals who will support you with transactional accounts payables, receivables, and credit control processes.

This role is best suited for a Finance Manager or Controller who has had detailed exposure to the not for profit or charity sector.

What you’ll be doing
As an experienced Finance Manager, you will be expected to have the following skill set.

• CA or CPA Qualification
• At least 3 – 5 years of hands‑on finance management experience
• Recent people / team leadership experience
• Solid financial controls and cashflow management
• Budgeting / forecasting / fixed assets / capex and opex reporting / AP & AR oversight
• Payroll function management and oversight
• Month and year end processes along with audit preparation
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships swiftly.
