Job summary

Archway Recruitment is partnering with an established Wellington-based engineering and manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Finance Manager. This role reports to the Chief Executive and sits on the leadership team, guiding financial strategy and the wider group finance function.

You will own financial management and reporting, act as a trusted adviser to executives and managers, and lead a team through process improvements while modernising ERP capabilities.

Qualifications

• CA, CPA or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong capability across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and compliance.
• Ideally manufacturing or inventory-intensive environment experience.
• Sound knowledge of standard costing, work in progress, inventory valuation, job costing and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of accurate and timely management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Oversee monthly accounts, balance sheet reviews, reconciliations, payroll and project financial reporting.
• Coordinate annual financial statements, statutory reporting and audit requirements.
• Maintain effective financial controls, policies and delegated authorities.
• Provide commercial advice to leadership and operational managers.
• Support tendering, quotations and pricing decisions through product costing, project costing and margin analysis.
• Prepare capital expenditure business cases, investment appraisals and post-investment reviews.
• Lead ongoing improvement of the ERP environment, reporting capability and data quality.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team covering finance, administration and operational support.

The role

Reporting to the Chief Executive and forming part of the leadership team, this is the senior finance position within the business. You will also work closely with the wider group finance function across reporting, accounting policy, controls, systems and improvement initiatives.
