Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Wellington seeks a Finance Manager to lead the regional finance and administration function, delivering on time and within budget for maintenance and projects.

You’ll provide commercial insight, drive monthly reporting, forecasting, and margin analysis, and partner with operational leaders to support performance and growth with a collaborative leadership style.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant status or similar qualification.
• Experience in contracting, infrastructure, or project-based environments.
• Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends and translate insights into actions.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with senior operational leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day finance and administration operations for the region.
• Provide proactive commercial advice to operational leaders to support performance, profitability, and smart decision-making.
• Coordinate monthly reporting, forecasting, commentary, and financial analysis across the business.
• Deliver clear, insightful reporting on project and department performance, including variance and margin analysis.
• Build strong relationships across the region through visible leadership, coaching, site engagement, and open communication.

With strong infrastructure, established operations, and a solid mix of maintenance and projects work, Wellington is a stable, high-performing region backed by an experienced team.

In this role, you’ll lead the regional finance and administration function, helping the wider business deliver safe, high-quality work on time and within budget. As a key member of the Regional Senior Management Team, you’ll bring clear commercial thinking, honest insight, and steady leadership to support performance today and growth into the future. • Lead the day-to-day finance and administration operations for the region.
• Provide proactive commercial advice to operational leaders to support performance, profitability, and smart decision-making.
• Coordinate monthly reporting, forecasting, commentary, and financial analysis across the business.
• Deliver clear, insightful reporting on project and department performance, including variance and margin analysis.
• Build strong relationships across the region through visible leadership, coaching, site engagement, and open communication.
• Chartered Accountant status or a similar qualification.
• Strong commercial and financial leadership experience, ideally in a contracting, infrastructure, or project-based environment.
• Proven ability to analyse financial data, spot trends, and turn insight into action.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to work alongside operational and senior leaders.
