Job summary

Fliway Group in Auckland is seeking a commercially focused Finance Business Partner to support our Logistics and Air & Ocean units. You will partner with operational leaders, deliver financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic support to drive performance.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience as Finance Business Partner or Senior Financial Analyst.
• Strong analytical, modelling and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience.
• Ability to influence and partner with operational leaders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial and financial support.
• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports and performance commentary.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Analyse revenue, costs, margins, and profitability across divisions.
• Identify risks/opportunities and support business cases and investments.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure reporting accuracy and controls.
• Collaborate with finance and operations to drive process improvements.

About The Role

We are seeking a commercially focused and analytical Finance Business Partner to support our Logistics and Air & Ocean business units. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys partnering with operational leaders, providing commercial insights, and driving business performance.

Working closely with key stakeholders, you will deliver financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic support to help achieve business objectives while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with operational and business leaders to provide commercial and financial support.
• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports, financial analysis, and performance commentary.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Analyse revenue, costs, margins, and profitability across the Logistics and Air & Ocean divisions.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to improve business performance.
• Support pricing, business cases, and investment decisions through financial modelling.
• Monitor KPIs and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making.
• Ensure financial controls, compliance, and reporting requirements are met.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Build strong relationships across finance and operational teams.

• Fixed-term Full-Time Position (2 years), working 40 hours per week, based in Auckland. The position covers a project-based secondment and may conclude earlier if the project is completed ahead of schedule.

What you Bring:

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner or Senior Financial Analyst role.
• Experience supporting operational or commercial business units.
• Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to influence, challenge, and support business leaders.
• Experience within the logistics, freight forwarding, transport, or supply chain industry is highly desirable.
