Placements24 in New Zealand is seeking a Field Service Technician to support energy equipment installations and maintenance in and around Queenstown. This hands-on role travels to customer sites to perform installations, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on energy-related machinery.

You will be the face of the company at customer locations, ensuring equipment operates optimally and providing technical support.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience with field service on energy equipment or industrial machinery.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and service energy generation and distribution equipment at customer sites.
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues; identify root causes.
• Complete detailed service reports documenting work, parts, and time.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on operation and basic maintenance.

You will be the face of the company at customer locations, ensuring equipment operates optimally and providing technical support. Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and service various types of energy generation and distribution equipment at customer sites.
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on machinery according to technical specifications and service manuals.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, identifying root causes of problems.
• Complete detailed service reports, documenting work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle and manage inventory of spare parts.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Fitting, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Field Service Technician, preferably working with industrial or energy equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the designated service area.
