JDE Peet’s in New Zealand is seeking a Field Sales Representative & Coffee Care Specialist to drive growth with Out of Home customers across the Christchurch region. You’ll manage accounts, train staff on coffee equipment, and travel frequently, including occasional out-of-town trips, ensuring top service and equipment performance.

We value previous head barista experience, strong coffee knowledge, and a passion for sales and training.

Qualifications

• Head or main barista experience and passion for coffee equipment.
• Strong knowledge of coffee machinery and service.
• Excellent people skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Interest and drive to develop a sales and training career.
• Solid literacy and numeracy for reporting and orders.
• Confident, respectful approach to customers and new situations.
• Bonus: prior business development experience.
• Must hold a full clean driver’s license and be willing to travel.
• Valid unrestricted work visa for NZ.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day account management of a customer base in Christchurch and surrounding areas.
• Attend customer sites and check equipment such as espresso machines and grinders.
• Assist with valet services: cleaning and maintenance of coffee equipment.
• Demonstrate barista skills to customers and share knowledge and passion for coffee.
• Organise and host training sessions to grow customer engagement.
• Monitor operating procedures to ensure compliance across customers.
• Communicate clearly and manage your time and call cycles with customers.

If you are currently a main/head barista with a good skill set in roasting, coffee machinery, and training looking for a role to springboard you into an exciting sales career, our Field Sales Representative & Coffee Care Specialist position is an opportunity to explore.

In this role, you would travel between a number of our Out of Home customers (bars, restaurants, cafes, petrol stations, hotels, offices etc.) in the Christchurch Region and surrounding areas with some occasional out of town trips.

What does that mean?

• Day-to-day account management of a customer base spread across the Christchurch and surrounding areas
• Attending customer sites, implementing equipment checks on a variety of machines ranging from espresso machines and grinders to automatic equipment placed across a variety of segments including cafes, hotels, petrol stations, leisure and Health Care facilities
• Support with some valet work for our customers: the cleaning and maintenance of their coffee equipment
• Get behind the machine and wow our customers with your barista skills, sharing your knowledge and passion for the perfect cup
• Grow customer engagement and expertise by organising and hosting training sessions
• Monitor operating procedures to ensure compliance across our diverse customer base
• Work transparently with clear communication, managing your time and customer call cycle

We’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

• Head/Main Barista experience
• Coffee Machinery knowledge
• A real people person, you get along easily with new people and enjoy meeting many people
• A drive to learn and develop in sales, with an absolute passion for all things coffee and tea
• Strong literacy & numeric skills
• Confident and considerate in your approach to customers and new situations
• Previous business development experience is a bonus
• Full clean driver’s license and the willingness to be on the road the majority of your time
• Valid unrestricted work visa
