New Zealand Couriers in Hamilton is seeking a commercially minded Business Development Consultant to join the Central North Island sales team. The role is a true field position focusing on meeting prospective customers, understanding needs, and delivering tailored courier solutions.

You will develop opportunities, build a strong pipeline, and negotiate capably to drive profitable growth while coordinating with Customer Services and Operations for a seamless experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in business development, field sales, or account management.
• Proven ability to win new customers and achieve sales targets.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong commercial judgement and confidence negotiating with decision-makers.
• High levels of self-motivation, resilience, and accountability.
• Great organisational skills and the ability to manage your own schedule.
• A current full New Zealand Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Developing new business opportunities across the Central North Island region.
• Prospecting, networking, and meeting with potential customers face-to-face.
• Building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets.
• Preparing and presenting tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
• Negotiating commercial agreements while maintaining profitable growth.
• Managing the customer journey from initial contact through to onboarding.
• Working closely with Customer Services and Operations to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Maintaining accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reporting.
• Representing New Zealand Couriers professionally within your local business community.
