Job summary

WAPITI DAIRY LIMITED is seeking a Farm Assistant to join our busy Reporoa farm. You will assist in milking, maintain animal welfare, and help with daily farm duties. You should be reliable, punctual and physically fit; prior farming experience is preferred but training will be provided.

Weekend work and drug testing may be required, along with references and a valid driver’s license. Accommodation on farm available with weekly rent deduction, and you must be able to lift 20 kg and work flexible

WAPITI DAIRY LIMITED is looking for a Farm Assistant to join the busy farm in Reporoa.

Some of your tasks related to this position would be:

• Assists in the milking process.


• Follows the procedure to produce high-quality milk.


• Assists in the safe handling of animals, reports any health and welfare issues as per farm policy.


• Controls weeds.


• Sets break fences and feeds out as directed.


• Assists with nutrient, effluent and water management as directed by farm policy.


• Safely uses and maintains vehicles on the farm

The right applicant will be punctual, reliable and have good communication skills.
Previous farming experience is preferred but not essential as proper training will be provided to the right candidate.

This is a drug-free work zone and the applicant will need to be comfortable with undergoing a drug test if ever requested. Police vetting may also be requested.

You should be able to provide previous work references.You should have a valid driving license.

Salary: $25 - $26 per hour (based on experience and skills)

This is a full-time position with a minimum 30 hours per week commitment.

Accommodation at the farm with a $150 per week rent deduction.

You should be able to work on weekends, lateevenings and on calls.

You should be physically fit to lift 20 kg weight to perform farm duties.
