Job summary

GRAT FARMS LTD in Northland is seeking a seasonal Farm Assistant from October to February to help run a modern dairy operation. You will support day-to-day farm tasks, assist with milking duties, shed hygiene and routine maintenance while learning about stock care and farm safety.

The role suits a reliable, fit team player who communicates well and manages time effectively. A 9/2, 8/2 roster is planned with some weekend work; a 3-bedroom house may be included in the package.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day running of the farm.

Job description

We are looking for someone from October until the end of February to help us on farm. We milk 600 cows in a modern 50-bale rotary, running two herds. In this role you will assist in the day to day running of the farm including milk and shed hygiene, effluent irrigation, break fencing, general maintenance and repairs and other farm duties.

We require someone who is reliable, fit and healthy. Someone who enjoys working with animals and seeing them do their best. A person who is keen to learn and progress within our farm business.

We are looking at running a 9/2,8/2 roster (over weekends). We are flexible with additional time off during quieter times. We offer a generous salary and if required a 3-bedroom house as part of the total package.
