Job summary

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is seeking an engaging and proactive communications professional to join our Operations Support team as a Faculty Communications Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager – Operations Support, you will deliver communications, engagement initiatives and events that support the Faculty's strategic priorities and strengthen connections across our diverse community.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field.
• At least two years' experience in communications, public relations, corporate communications or internal communications.
• Demonstrated experience creating content for websites, intranet platforms and social media channels.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading and storytelling skills.
• Experience developing and delivering communication plans and supporting events.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and publish content across newsletters, websites, intranet channels, email and social media.
• Coordinate Faculty communications, including leadership updates and key organisational messaging.
• Manage Faculty communications and content calendars.
• Support the planning and delivery of Faculty events, including promotion and post-event communications.
• Manage Faculty social media channels and identify opportunities to showcase research, achievements and success stories.
• Build effective relationships across the Faculty and with AUT's Brand, Marketing and Communications teams.

We are seeking an engaging and proactive communications professional to join our Operations Support team as a Faculty Communications Coordinator.

Reporting to the Manager – Operations Support, you will deliver communications, engagement initiatives and events that support the Faculty's strategic priorities and strengthen connections across our diverse community. Working closely with academic and professional staff, Faculty leaders and central AUT teams, you will ensure communications are audience-focused, coordinated and aligned with AUT standards.

This varied role encompasses content development, communications, events and social media. You will coordinate internal communications, manage Faculty social media channels, support Faculty and School events, and maintain communication platforms that keep staff informed. You will also contribute to the Faculty's Māori visibility objectives through collaboration with Te Kāhui Manukura and support AUT's Te Aronui framework.

You will be an exceptional communicator who enjoys building relationships, uncovering compelling stories and creating engaging content. With strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities, you will thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy contributing to the success of students, staff and the wider Faculty community.
