Job summary

Boxkraft Ltd in Penrose, Auckland, is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to lead our daily production operations. This is a hands-on role that runs the plant, guides the factory team and ensures quality jobs move out the door on time.

You will oversee printing, die-cutting, litho-laminating, gluing and finishing, plan production to meet delivery dates, drive safety standards and continuous improvement, and collaborate with sales for accurate job planning.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, packaging, print or converting is a strong advantage.
• Hands-on operator who leads from the floor and is not afraid to get involved.
• Strong production planning and scheduling skills across multiple machines and deadlines.
• Solid understanding of health and safety obligations in a factory setting.
• Clear communicator who motivates a team and works under pressure with customer deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and roster production teams across printing, die-cutting, litho-laminating, gluing and finishing.
• Plan production to hit delivery dates for a fast-moving mix of jobs.
• Drive quality from setup to despatch and own safety culture on the floor.
• Maintain plant and machinery, and drive continuous improvement in workflow and utilisation.

About us

Boxkraft Ltd is an Auckland-based packaging manufacturer specialising in custom folding cartons, corrugated boxes and printed packaging. From our plant in Penrose, our team of around 35 produces high-quality print, litho-laminated and die-cut packaging for customers across food and beverage, healthcare, industrial and retail sectors throughout New Zealand.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Factory Manager to lead our production operation day to day. This is a hands-on role. You'll run the plant, lead the factory team, and keep quality jobs moving out the door on time.

What you'll be doing

• Leading, coaching and rostering a production team across printing, die-cutting, litho-laminating, gluing and finishing
• Planning production to hit delivery dates across a fast-moving mix of short- and long-run jobs
• Driving quality standards from job setup through to final despatch
• Owning health and safety on the floor and building a strong safety culture
• Managing plant and machinery maintenance.
• Identifying and leading continuous improvement in workflow, waste reduction and machine utilisation
• Working closely with the sales and estimating team so jobs are planned right the first time

About you

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment — packaging, print or converting experience is a strong advantage
• A hands-on operator who leads from the floor and isn't afraid to get stuck in
• Strong production planning and scheduling skills across multiple machines and deadlines
• A practical understanding of health and safety obligations in a factory setting
