Job summary

Pact Packaging – Steel Division in Avondale, NZ seeks an experienced Production Supervisor to lead the manufacturing team and drive operational excellence. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure production targets are met and foster a safe, engaged workplace culture.

You will develop people, improve performance, and contribute to the ongoing success of a well-established manufacturing operation. Hands-on leadership and problem-solving are valued.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Proven ability to coach, develop and motivate teams.
• Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Sound understanding of health and safety, quality systems and manufacturing best practices.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced operation.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Lead, coach and develop production team members to create a safe, engaged and high‑performing workplace culture.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

• Leadership experience within manufacturing, production, FMCG or operational environment.
• Proven ability to coach, develop and motivate teams to achieve strong performance outcomes.
• Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Sound understanding of health and safety, quality systems and manufacturing best practices.
• Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making skills in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Mechanical aptitude and a hands‑on approach to supporting operational requirements.
• A passion for continuous improvement and driving positive change.

• Working Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm - 40 hours per week
• No Overtime and Oncall requirements
