Job summary

Auckland One Rail is seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician to support the maintenance and operation of depot facilities and infrastructure in Auckland. You will report to the Depots and Facility Delivery Manager and ensure facilities, plant, and equipment remain safe, reliable, and fit for purpose.

Responsibilities include preventative and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, and working with Maximo to keep accurate records. A strong safety culture and teamwork are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, building, or related field.
• NZQA Level 4 or equivalent.
• Current practising licence where applicable.
• Experience in facilities, plant, or industrial maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
• Good computer literacy and experience with maintenance management systems.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality outcomes.

• Assist with asset inspections, condition monitoring, and contractor management.
• Respond promptly to facility breakdowns and service requests.
• Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, and quality culture.
