Job summary

Aucklandonerail is seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician to support the maintenance and operation of depot facilities and infrastructure. Reporting to the Depots and Facility Delivery Manager, you will ensure facilities, plant and equipment remain safe, reliable and fit for purpose.

You will carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across facility systems, inspect and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and building assets, and maintain records using Maximo.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, building, or related field.
• Experience in facilities, plant, or industrial maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
• Good computer literacy and experience with maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with asset inspections, condition monitoring, and contractor management.
• Respond promptly to facility breakdowns and service requests.
• Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, and quality culture.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, building, or a related field (NZQA Level 4 or equivalent).
• Relevant practising licence where applicable.
• Experience in facilities, plant, or industrial maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
• Good computer literacy and experience with maintenance management systems.
