Job summary

Fitzroy Engineering Group in New Plymouth, NZ is seeking a highly organised Workshop Scheduler to coordinate fabrication workshop and paint shop activities, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery. You will report to the Taranaki Facilities & Mechanical Location Manager and work hands-on to maximise productivity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in production scheduling within workshop or manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, welding, machining and industrial painting processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using scheduling systems/software.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence and coordinate across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Production Scheduling - Coordinate workshop and paint shop schedules, optimise resources, monitor progress, update stakeholders on delivery.
• Materials & Resource Coordination - Collaborate with Procurement and Stores to ensure material availability and manage supply risks.
• Project & Stakeholder Communication - Coordinate with project teams, provide updates, maintain scheduling records, support planning meetings.
• Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and support Lean initiatives.
• Health, Safety & Environment - Promote safety culture and assist with incident reporting and investigations.
